How Depop seller fees work (as of Oct 2026)
Depop removed its 10% selling fee for US sellers in 2024. Today a standard US sale has 0% selling fee, and you pay only payment processing. If you use Boost, there is an optional extra fee on boosted sales.
Payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45
Processing is charged on the whole transaction: item price plus shipping plus any sales tax. On a $40 item with $5 shipping and $3.60 tax, processing is 3.3% of $48.60 plus $0.45, or $2.05. A bundle counts as one transaction, so the $0.45 is charged once per bundle, not once per item. Bundling is one of the easiest ways to lower your fee rate on cheap items.
Boosted listings: 12% (since March 23, 2026)
Boost is Depop’s optional promotion tool. When a boosted listing sells, you pay a Boost fee of 12% of the item price, excluding tax. If you ship with your own label instead of a Depop label, the Boost fee also applies to shipping. The rate went up from 8% to 12% for new US listings on March 23, 2026. Tick “Boosted listing” in the calculator to see what Boost costs on a sale.
How shipping affects your profit
Depop sellers either use a Depop shipping label or ship on their own. Either way, the calculator counts buyer-paid shipping as part of the order, because processing is charged on it. Enter what the postage actually costs you as “Your shipping label cost” and the profit line shows whether you under-charged for shipping.
Refunds
If a sale is refunded, Depop reverses its fees, so you don’t lose the processing fee on a refunded order.
What Depop fees look like in practice
- A $20 sale with $5 shipping and no tax pays 3.3% of $25 plus $0.45, or $1.28. That’s about 6.4% of the item price.
- A $100 sale with no shipping or tax pays $3.75, or 3.75%.
- The same $100 sale boosted adds $12.00, for $15.75 in total.
Because the $0.45 is fixed, the effective rate is highest on cheap items and falls as the price rises. That makes Depop one of the lowest-fee places to sell clothing in the US right now, as long as you don’t rely on Boost for every sale.
Rates are from Depop’s seller fees help page (updated July 21, 2026). Buyers may also pay a separate marketplace fee at checkout; that comes from the buyer, not from your payout.
